Story- The ‘Pete the Cat’ series has been on high rotation in classrooms for the past few
years. The last few pages have a great message: “No matter what you step in, keep
walking along and singing your song….because it’s all good!”
No matter what happens to us in life, we need to keep going; we need to keep looking on
the bright side. There are always things to make us smile and refocus our perspectives
and attitudes towards the greater good. This is very easy to do—just pop into one of the
classrooms and see a family playing together, hear a child giggle while reading a book or
duplicate the smile on an Educator’s face when a child tries something for the first time. No
matter what is happening for that child or family; they are present in that moment. They
haven’t let things get them down. When life gets you down, come visit one of our sites….
and remember: It’s all good! For more information on Pete the Cat go to:

Reminder: Think deeply. Speak gently. Love much. Laugh a lot. Work hard. Give Freely. Be
kind. - Mary Lou Andrais, Intake Worker
Quote: “Don’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do.
You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe and remember, you can achieve.”
- Mary Kay Ash - Amanda Dubé, Development Manager
Funny story: Child: “Why does your belly look like that?” Marcela: “Because I’m having a
baby!” Child: “How does it come out?” Marcela: “…..I think you should ask your Mom that
question!” - Marcela Hunter, Supervisor
Community feedback: “Family doctor (Dr. Masterson) suggested program and provided a
letter. Child has issues . . . . and concerns are outlined in the letter. Pediatrician
Dr. Masterson – thought ABC Head Start would be able to help figure him out. . . . “
Pam Schellenberger, Planning Manager
