Anuga Trade Exhibition , October 2023
The 2023 Anuga trade exhibition took place from Saturday , October 7 , to Wednesday , October 11 . The first two days of the exhibition , coinciding with the weekend , proved to be the busiest for the Australian almond stand . The overhead signage was highly effective in promoting the stand ’ s presence in the hall , drawing significant attention from attendees . The introduction of a private meeting room on the stand , utilised for the first time , provided a valuable addition for conducting business at this busy event . Anuga continues to be an excellent platform for meeting with key customers from Europe , the Middle East , India , and other important markets .
MEWA India Conference , February 2024
The inaugural conference of the India Nuts & Dried Fruit Council , MEWA India 2024 , was held in Delhi from February 16-17 . The event featured participants from over 20 countries , with 200 exhibitors and more than 6,000 attendees . Preceding the conference , a day of ‘ Box Cricket ’ was held , where teams competed for the MEWA Premier League Cup .
The Almond Board of Australia had a prominent presence with an exhibition booth , and ABA CEO , Tim Jackson , presented an Industry Update at the MEWA Almond Roundtable . The strong support for this conference from the Indian nut industry highlights the need to include it as a regular feature on the Australian Almonds Trade Mission calendar .
The Indian market is modernising rapidly , with distribution channels expanding and consumer buying behaviour evolving accordingly . The cultural significance of gifting and consuming almonds , combined with emerging wealth , suggests significant potential for growth in this market .
