The Book of Revelation introduces John the writer and Jesus Christ the Judge, King, Alpha & Omega, The Begnning and the The End and then judgement begins.
We are introduced to the 7 Churches of Asia Minor. These 7 churches have both an existential and an eschatolgical meaning. They are physical churches that existed for a physical time in a physical place and the spirit of each church went forth in time repeating the spiritual descriptions of church members.
Christ is providing both condemnations- wrongful actions committed by each church and commendations- commendable action commited by each each.
Two churches are NOT given condemnations- The Church of Smyrna and The Church of Phildelphia. One Church is NOT given a commendation and it is the last church and it represents the last church age or period in time- The Church of Laodicean. This church is known as the Apostate church.
