Day 1 Alice Springs –
Uluru Sacred Sites & Sunset
The camel was a vital animal in
the history and development of
the Australian outback. Visit a
camel farm – perhaps even take
a ride on one of these so-called
‘ships of the desert’ – and see
towering Atila (Mt. Conner) today
as you make your way to Ayers
Rock Resort. View the amazing
collection of Indigenous paintings
at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural
Centre, then tour the base of Uluru
with your expert Driver Guide.
Continue to the Kuniya Walk, and
Uluru
the sacred Mutitjulu Waterhole. In
the late afternoon, experience the
remarkable color changes of Uluru
as the sun sets over the world’s
largest monolith. Hotel: Outback

Day 2 Uluru Sunrise –
Kings Canyon
Witness a magnificent Uluru
sunrise, then continue to the
36 domes of Kata Tjuta (the
Olgas). On the way enjoy
panoramic views on the south
side of Kata Tjuta from the
dune viewing platform. Explore
Walpa Gorge and the unusual
conglomerate rock formations.
This afternoon, travel to Kings

Day 3 Kings Canyon –
Depart Alice Springs
Join a guided climb to the rim
of Kings Canyon for marvellous
views of Watarrka National Park,
or take an easier walk along the
boulder-strewn creek bed of
the canyon. Your Short Break
concludes back in Alice Springs.

Day 1 Alice Springs –
Uluru Sacred Sites & Sunset
Traveling south though red desert
country, you’ll stop to visit a camel
farm and learn about the vital
role these hardy animals played
in the development of Central
Australia. Later, stop to view Atila
(Mt. Conner), often mistaken for
Uluru, before arriving at Ayers Rock
Resort. This afternoon join your
Driver Guide for a tour around the
base of Uluru, then continue to the
Kuniya Walk and visit the sacred
Mutitjulu Waterhole. View ancient
rock art and learn about the
Aboriginal and European history
of the area, and spend some time
at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural
Centre where you’ll gain some
fascinating cultural insights. In the
late afternoon, witness the striking
color changes of Uluru (Ayers
Rock) at sunset as you enjoy
sparkling wine at the prime sunset

Kings Canyon –
Depart Alice Springs
Drive through deserted sandhill
country towards Kings Canyon,
stopping for a breakfast at Kings
Creek Station. Climb to the rim of
the canyon for marvellous views
of Watarrka National Park, or
enjoy a more leisurely 1½ hour
walk along the boulder-strewn
creek bed of the canyon. Later
travel to Alice Springs, where
your Short Break concludes. B
