• ChildSafe SA collaborated with the African Brain Child , a division of the Neuroscience Institute at UCT , to launch the Be Quick to Click campaign , focusing on Traumatic Brain Injury resulting from road crashes . Central to this theme is encouraging safety through buckling up , thereby keeping children away from trauma centres and intensive care units . ChildSafe participated in the webinar held in October 2023 .
• The Walking Safely to School Project celebrated the World Day of Remembrance on 19 November 2023 at the Belhar Lighthouse Family Church with a Keynote address by the then MEC of Mobility , Ricardo Mackenzie . This was a day of collective celebration and deep refocusing with the Western Cape MEC of Mobility , representatives from Traffic Services , Western Cape Government , Department of Mobility , South African Police Services , all schools on the project , and the community at large . The call to action : Ongoing advocacy for a reduced speed limit of 30 km / h zone in and around all schools to create safer school zones for our children .
