Ilobasco, the place where mud becomes art
Ilobasco is known as "The City of Handicrafts"; Its name is of Nahuatl origin, comes from the vocabulary Hilotaxca, meaning "tortilla made of sweet corn", is one of the picturesque places that make up the Artesan Route
This population is located in the central region of El Salvador and belongs to the department of CabaƱas.
Ilobasco is recognized nationally and world-wide for its beautiful and well-crafted handicrafts, in a special case its curious and colorful miniature handicrafts
Objects made of wood, ceramics, mud and some embroideries adorn sidewalks and business interiors visited by domestic and foreign tourists.
