Abstract
This research paper focuses on how self-directed learning
can be developed with the use of technology, informed
pedagogically by the Informal Learning approach. The
research was carried out with a class of Secondary One
Normal Technical students over a period of 14 weeks.
Students were tasked to work in pairs to perform a popular
song of their choice. Students were given access to laptops
with Internet connection, with which they could access
online resources. Working with their partners, most of the
students were able to play their selected popular song on
the keyboard during a Teachers’ Day tribute in school.
