As a manager, I typically oversee the practical business aspects of a client’s career, leaving the client free to focus on his or her craft. My position is to help my client find an agent, assist in making contacts for my client within the industry, organize their day to day agenda, and help my client plan out his or her financial future and career goals. As an event manager, I manage all aspects of planning events, and delegating responsibilities to the team. Typically, I’m responsible for planning and coordinating major parties and social events. This may be for a club or restaurant, or a particular client such as a celebrity, a film producer, record label, or an outdoor event such as an around the way block party. Brand image is of main importance as a publicist. Proofreading documents and testimonials, reviewing images and posts to reflect a positive output and other legal sourcing , confirming media coverage and matters of the such are representing the appropriate display of my client. Maintaining a strong focus on brand image is of the highest importance as a publicist while relating to and managing publicity for the public figure for the artist, celebrity,or singer. In addition, another main function of a publicist’s is to generate press coverage on behalf of clients and to serve as the bridge between clients, their public and media outlets.
