Editor
The First editorial for the introduction of the A Nurse's Life magazine!
Inspiration comes in many shapes and sizes. For me the ideal of A Nurse’s Life started with a simple Facebook page. It then grew from there into a WordPress blog, a website, forum etc. You get the point. Ideas and dreams grow when we foster and develop them. When we follow a dream, it can come true. This magazine is another inspiration that has manifested from the first seed.
The magazine is a work in progress so initially topics will include a variety of things. I hope to open the magazine up to my colleagues who have something to share, whether that is testimonials, articles, or just fun experiences.
The goal of this magazine is that it will be a useful tool for nurses written by nurses. We are a profession that for more than one hundred years has had to prove ourselves as a profession. Fighting stigma, cultural differences, social suppression, we have experienced it all.
It is time for society to take nursing more serious as a profession and accept that nurses are professional. Fighting change is historically difficult but through continued contributions to our profession, we can overcome.
