An archetype is an example that

is considered typical of a certain

person or thing. (attribute of

that person/object).

It is someone or something that we can identify with, without having a logic reasoning for it. i.e. Icon. It is the one that came before any other, so in defining such a concept it is the original, the one that others have copied.

Examples of archetypes of femininity include :

- The lover: the core desire to have intimacy and experience, the lover's goal is to be in a relationship with people, work and surroundings that they love the most.

- The caregiver: the core desire to protect and care for other people.

- The Orphan: the desire to connect with others.

Archetypes exist as part of a "heroic"journey that we are to take. Its the sense that eventually we will do what is right. By us, and by others. They exist as part of a guidance, or a helper on a much bigger journey.

The concept of Archetypes have been around since the time of Plato who believed that patterns were imprinted upon the soul when a infant was born.

Jung, a father of modern psychoanalysis, believed that we find archetypes in our unconscious mind, often known as the psych. But the truth is, we all have an archetype. we all aspire to be someone that other people can identify with. However, archetypes are now commonly found in people that we consider to be heroes of some kind. Whether they are actually heroes or superheroes.
