Married At Whitstable Castle
Whitstable Maria And Noah Held A Magical Winter Wedding At Whitstable Castle Complete With Christmas Dinner And Pink Accessories
Photography by Sue ’ s Special Days Photography
The Venue The idea of being married at a castle , not far from where we live , was irresistible ! The castle and the grounds are stunning , and that ’ s how we settled on Whitstable Castle .
The Dress The first dress purchased got lost during transit ! It took a long time to find something else that compared and I bought it online . We were very lucky to find a fantastic seamstress , Alison at BB Bridal & Alterations in Westgate , who managed to alter the dress perfectly with two days to spare ! My gorgeous shoes were Aliya Ivory purchased from Paradox London and I had a crystal tiara to complete the princess look !
The Food We had a traditional Christmas dinner and dessert freshly made by the staff at Whitstable Castle with waiter and waitress service . A huge special thanks to Tiffany at the castle and her staff for allowing the service and reception to go ahead in spite of the groom having covid ! In the week leading up to the big day there were times when we thought we would have to cancel but Tiffany managed to save the day .
The Theme There ’ s one word for our theme - pink ! The Christmas trees were decorated with pink , silver and gold decorations . The tables were sprinkled with pink snowflakes and silver and gold reindeer and miniature Christmas trees .
The Photography Susan Farnsworth of Sue ’ s Special Days Photography was our photographer . We met Sue at a wedding fair held at Whitstable Castle and knew she would be perfect for us … and indeed she was ! Sue put everyone at ease and took some fabulous photographs .
The Highlight The fact that the wedding and reception actually went ahead as so many things had gone wrong in the weeks leading up to the big day was our highlight !
Noah ’ s marriage visa was delayed ( he is a USA resident ) and the date had to be pushed back at short notice . The first wedding dress got lost in transit . I was very unwell two weeks before the wedding , and then when Noah got covid just before the wedding we believed we would have to cancel , however the ceremony went ahead despite us having to wear masks . Thanks to snowy and icy conditions , we only had 28 guests but we still had the best day .
