ASK THE EXPERTS
HOW LONG BEFORE YOUR WEDDING DAY WOULD YOU ADVISE GETTING YOUR NAILS DONE ? I would recommend scheduling your nails to be done 1-2 days before your wedding day ; this will make sure they ’ re kept in the best condition to avoid any damage occurring ahead of the big day .
WOULD YOU SUGGEST GEL POLISH FOR WEDDING NAILS ? Yes most definitely ! We want those hands to shine and stay looking beautiful even after the wedding day . I also use BIAB ( Builder in a Bottle ) which combines the benefits of gel polish and hard gel . It ’ s stronger than normal gel polish and is generally used to strengthen the natural nail .
ARE THERE ANY TRENDS OR STYLES FOR WINTER WEDDING NAILS THAT YOU LOVE ? The styles for bridal nails always remain relatively classic every year with the most popular being a traditional French tip through to a sparkly ombré or just a beautiful natural nail like Teddy BIAB from The Gel Bottle . Bridal nails are such a personal thing , I absolutely loved having a milky white set for my wedding day !
HOW CAN YOU MAKE CLASSIC NAILS A BIT MORE INTERESTING FOR A WEDDING ? I ’ ve had a few brides who have wanted a twist on the traditional French tip by having either a gold chrome tip or a sparkly silver one - there ’ s no rule book , and it ’ s great to experiment with subtle hints of metallic accents or dainty nail art .
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF DISASTER STRIKES AND YOU BREAK A NAIL ON YOUR WEDDING DAY ? If a nail disaster strikes , cut a small corner from a tea bag and secure it over the break with some nail glue . Once the teabag section is dry , buff it down slightly , paint over some top coat and finish with your chosen nail polish and voilà ! I ’ d advise any bridesmaids to carry some nail glue , a tea bag and polish for the bride on the day !
