ASK THE EXPERT
HOW DO YOU AND THE TEAM HELP A WEDDING COME TOGETHER ? We are wedding coordinators , and our role is predominantly to be there on the day of the wedding to ensure the day runs smoothly , however our service blends our knowledge of the wedding industry with our guidance from years of experience via support from our online planning portal . Our unique software guides the couple through the process with their own bespoke online tools set up specifically to help them bring their vision to life , making their planning journey as fun and fabulous as their wedding day .
We work with all clients to write them a realistic timeline which outlines all the logistical elements that will inevitably surface so that they have a solid foundation to build on . During the remaining planning time our couples will use the portal to stay on track , conquer their objectives and stick to the vision for their wedding day . They can log on from anywhere , which is super productive , and they can easily divide their roles and responsibilities and see how they are both doing .
As our team can access their portal , we fully understand their plans before their final run through 4 weeks before the wedding , and we can make sure the day runs smoothly .
WHAT DO YOU WISH MORE COUPLES KNEW ABOUT WEDDING COORDINATION ? Hiring a wedding coordinator can fill the gap between the suppliers , the couple , the bridal party and the guests ; they are there to make sure the couple relax . Wedding coordinators are there to help couples to live in the moment on their wedding day rather than worrying about last-minute details and directing suppliers . For us , the most important factor is to protect the couple ’ s emotional wellbeing - with all the financial investment they have made we want to be there to give them peace of mind and allow them , their families and bridal party to enjoy every second .
WHAT ’ S BEEN THE MOST CHALLENGING WEDDING YOU ’ VE EVER WORKED ON ? The most challenging ones are always the most rewarding because the unique items we have to coordinate are carefully thought through and have been totally personal to that couple . We love nothing more than the father of the bride organising surprise deliveries for the speeches or grooms arranging for owls to fly in the wedding rings . We ’ ve also had to execute the perfect time for a spitfire fly over , helicopters to land , horses to make an appearance for photos and indoor fireworks to go off to the right beat of the song !
WHAT WEDDING TRENDS ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2024 ? Dessert bars are our favourite growing trend . We are always there during the meal and help with the clear down , so we see so much leftover dessert . Having to sit for several hours to enjoy the food and the speeches can often leave guests wanting to stretch their legs , so sometimes they get up before the dessert has been served and it ’ s hard to get them to sit back down . Creating a stylish dessert bar adds another feature to the day , invites your guests to help themselves at their own time and is a fun and thoughtful way to move the vibe from the formal sit-down meal into the evening celebration . See more about dessert tables on page 116
ARE THERE ANY TRENDS YOU ’ RE HOPING WILL STAY IN 2023 ? Homemade cakes ! We LOVE the thought and the sentiment behind a homemade wedding cake , but very rarely do they make it through unscathed . Generally they ’ re made by a family member which adds to the pressure as they need to come and set up early . Then , the structure of a homemade cake often isn ’ t the same as one created by a professional . While we love the idea , homemade cakes cause stress for the family member and we have seen so much cake wasted when it crumbles at the sight of the knife , we just wonder if the stress outweighs the sentiment !
