BACK TO BASICS Before you start planning all the exciting bits , address the nitty-gritty details . These factors that need to be assessed , decided on and outlined in black-and-white , include the budget , legal aspects , size , location and timing of the wedding . Once a budget has been established , the other elements , which are all dependent upon one another , can then be deciphered and decided upon .
PRIORITISE YOUR DESIRES Although prioritising is important further down the line when it comes to choosing more specific elements of your wedding , prioritising even our ‘ basic ’ elements is crucial . For example , although we may wish to get married in a certain location or at a specific time of year , it might be more important to us to ensure all of our desired guests are able to attend , or that the venue we love is available even if it ’ s not for the date we had in mind .
SET YOUR STYLE Once the basic bits have been confirmed , the fun can really start ; it ’ s time to get creative ! Determine your wedding style by making mood boards either with apps such as Pinterest , or go old school and craft a tangible mood board to pin up at home . Cutting out favoured images and ideas from wedding magazines ( yes , we don ’ t mind if you cut us up for inspiration !) and turning them into your own wedding mood board can be a great de-stressing exercise while also being worthwhile . Even if you are not a visual person and prefer a list , make it visual with plenty of colours , so it ’ s easier to untangle and recognise what the most important details of your wedding will be to you .
