Laura and Hayley are the founders of Kingsdown Rings – a Deal-based ring design company that allows couples to find their perfect styles , or design their own . Here , they tell us more about the process of bringing your dream ring to life
What are your backgrounds and how did Kingsdown Rings come about ?
With a combined experience of over 20 years in the wedding and jewellery industries , we founded Kingsdown Rings two years ago . We noticed a gap in the market for a truly bespoke , more personal approach to wedding rings . Our vision was to create a private studio where clients could design their own wedding rings and enjoy a truly personal , memorable experience .
How does the ring selection process work with couples coming to you ?
The ring selection process is personal and relaxed . During a private appointment , clients can explore our vast selection of samples over tea and cake in a luxurious setting . We love hearing about their wedding plans and offering expert guidance . Whether inspired by our samples or creating a custom design , we work closely with them to craft their perfect rings , giving them all the time they need .
What kinds of ideas do couples need to come with ?
Clients don ’ t need any specific ideas – just an open mind ! Some have a clear vision , while others explore our samples for inspiration . Whether they ’ re drawn to certain styles or need guidance , we help shape their ideas into the perfect design .
How many samples do you have , and what kinds of styles do you offer ?
We have hundreds of sample rings , showcasing a wide range of styles from classic and elegant to modern and unique . All of our rings can be made in a variety of metals and feature different finishes and stone settings , giving couples plenty of inspiration to find the perfect look . We also offer full customisation , allowing couples to create a one-ofa-kind design that truly reflects their personal style and love story .
Once a couple has chosen their rings , what ’ s the next step ?
Once the design is finalised , our clients can choose to spread the payments to help with budgeting if they wish . It typically takes eight to 10 weeks for the rings to be made . All of our clients ’ rings are handmade to order , meaning nobody has ever worn their ring before them which we feel is so important ! We keep couples updated throughout the process , ensuring they ’ re informed every step of the way . Once the rings are ready , we schedule a return appointment for them to try them on and make sure everything is perfect .
Do you have any guideline prices , or does the ring cost vary for every couple ?
The price can vary based on several factors , such as the choice of metal & diamond weight , and we will always try to stay within our couples ’ budgets . However , to give you a general idea , most of our couples tend to budget around £ 2,000 for both rings . We pride ourselves on offering a completely bespoke service , so the final price is always tailored to each couple ’ s unique design and preferences .
