SPR ING CLEAN

THIS SEASON ’ S WEDDING AESTHETIC IS ALL ABOUT PARED-BACK STYLING , SIMPLE COLOUR PALETTES AND A LESS IS MORE APPROACH

For the TikTokers amongst you , you ’ ve probably noticed the ‘ clean aesthetic ’ viral trend sweeping your feeds . For the unencumbered ; it ’ s a trend especially relating to beauty where a minimalistic style is created using makeup products that give a natural look .

And while the ‘ clean girl aesthetic ’ might be fashionable when it comes to beauty , the trend is also making waves in the wedding industry .
Replacing the chintzy , quirky fashion of mismatched decor and undone boho touches , the clean wedding aesthetic is all about sleek styling , minimal decorations and lots of white space . The result ? A ‘ clean ’ - but importantly not sanitary - style that looks as good off camera as it does on .
Like the sound of this trend ? Here ’ s how to get the look and create your own clean wedding .
A SERENE SETTING The first rule of creating a clean wedding aesthetic is choosing a venue that lends itself to your theme . While rustic barns and retro theme parks are amazing spaces to get married in , you might want to consider something more simplistic with very few frills . City chic weddings are big news , and you can recreate this look by choosing a town hall or register office for your ceremony . You ’ ll get the photos of you on the steps outside of a landmark building , plus the option to utilise the surrounding streets for some cool , urban photographs .
If you ’ re looking for something more enchanting , a marquee is a good way to go ; the natural light coming in from outside teamed with the white fabric from the canopy gives you that clean aesthetic wherever your venue may be set .
ALL WHITE The easiest way to master this look is to keep your colour palettes simple and muted . While not everything has to be monochrome , to create a striking style try to incorporate as much white as possible , whether that ’ s in your outfits ( aside from the bride wearing white it ’ s now very on-trend for the bridesmaids to be seen sporting ivory , champagne or other pale shades to complement the wedding dress ), your cake , your flowers or your crockery and table settings .
CREATE A CONTRAST Once you ’ ve got your white backdrop , you can start to create interest by incorporating some contrasting colours and shapes .
Dark green pairs well and offers an alternative to black so consider deep forest green for elements like floral arrangements , napkins and stationery . Keep these touches to a minimum though , the key is not to go too fussy or overdone .
