OUR KENTISH CEREMONY
MARRIED AT THE BUTTERY & GLASSHOUSE
WROTHAM GEORGINA AND SAMUEL MARCHANT WANTED A FOODIE VENUE WITH A COUNTRYSIDE FEEL AND GOT EVERYTHING THEY WERE LOOKING FOR AT THE BULL IN WROTHAM

THE VENUE We visited the venue for lunch on a recommendation and we immediately fell in love with it for its fantastic food , beautiful surroundings , and welcoming staff . It ticked all our boxes - it ’ s a foodie venue full of character . We also loved how secluded The Bull felt , despite being easy to access from the M20 . As soon as you drive down Bull Lane you ’ re surrounded by overhanging trees , and you really get the sense of the countryside and nature .
THE OUTFITS I started looking for my dress in 2020 but it was difficult to find as all the bridal shops were closed on and off throughout the year due to the pandemic . I tried on a few dresses , but nothing was standing out initially . Eventually I saw my dress on the Justin Alexander website , and I contacted my local bridal boutique Bromley Brides for them to order it in for me to try . I knew I ’ d found the dress once I ’ d tried it on - it met all my expectations and I felt so comfortable wearing it . Sam shopped around for suits and decided on a three-piece , dark green Tailor Me suit from Moss Bros . He had orange stitching added to his buttonholes to link with the bridesmaid colour scheme , which was a selection of dresses ranging from dark green and sage green to navy blue and rust orange .
THE CEREMONY I think we ’ d both say our favourite moment of the ceremony was seeing each other for the first time . I couldn ’ t hide the beaming smile on my face when I saw Sam waiting for me .
As guests were arriving , and during the ceremony , we played classical covers of our favourite music - we had a combination of music by The Cure , Fleetwood Mac , Coldplay , Daft Punk , The Verve , Bastille , Harry Styles , and a few other pop artists . We set up a game for guests to play whilst having their main meal , with the help of Jules from Pallet & Page Stationery so guests could guess the songs we ’ d played during the ceremony .
THE RECEPTION Our food was provided by The Bull ; we had canapés during the drinks reception which included padron peppers , two different types of speciality sausages and halloumi cheese , followed by a two-course smokehouse feast with a chocolate brownie for dessert . They also provided a cheese board and woodfired pizzas in the evening . The food was delicious and so memorable .
The Blue Lion Band performed throughout the day . We had three musicians playing during the drinks reception , and we also had a sevenpiece band in the bar in the evening . The band was epic ! The dancefloor was packed all night , the live music set the scene for a great evening .
THE HIGHLIGHT I personally loved the ceremony as it was the first moment that it all became real . I also loved the live music in the evening as it brought everyone together and there were so many happy faces on the dancefloor .
