NEXT STEPS

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN

DON ’ T FORGET THESE ESSENTIAL THINGS BEFORE YOUR BIG DAY
ONE MONTH TO GO
Pay your suppliers It ’ s probably a long time ago since you put down your deposits and you might have forgotten all about paying out for the wedding … but sadly those balances need settling ! A month before the wedding is often when the final payments need to be paid for things like caterers , florists and entertainment . Make a list of everyone you need to pay , and check them off as you make the payments . It ’ s also worth contacting each supplier to let them know you ’ ve paid your balance so that they can confirm receipt of payment and let you know if they need any more details from you before the big day .
Draft your table plan Once you ’ ve got your RSVPs in , it ’ s a good idea to get a rough seating plan together so you can work out who ’ ll sit where - this can take longer than you think , and you might need to have several attempts ! Once this is all confirmed ( nearer to the wedding date to allow for any changes ), give a copy of your plan to your caterers and venue staff .
Have your final fitting You ’ ll usually have your final wedding dress fitting around a month before the big day , and as long as you don ’ t need any last minute alterations , this will usually be when you ’ ll bring the dress home with you , too .
ONE WEEK TO GO
Pamper prep In the week leading up to your wedding , get appointments booked in for beauty treatments such as manicures , pedicures , waxing and spray tans . Wedding prep can be stressful with last minute details , so taking some time out for yourself can be a lovely and relaxing reward .
Get packing If you ’ re heading off on honeymoon soon after your wedding , pack in advance so you don ’ t have another thing to worry about as the big day approaches . Print off boarding passes , go to the pharmacy to get any medication you might need , and check whether anything you want to take away with you needs washing - you don ’ t want to be worrying about laundry on your wedding night .
Clothing collection If you ’ re hiring suits and other items for your bridal party , collect them with plenty of time for minimal stress . Groomsmen have been known to give the wrong measurements , so finding out the trousers are three inches too short is best discovered early !
ONE DAY TO GO
Allocate and delegate Remove the stress from your big day by assigning roles to your bridal party so everyone knows what they need to do during the wedding . From lighting candles on the tables to announcing you for your first dance , bridesmaids and groomsmen are there to be by your side on the day , so they ’ ll be more than happy to take on some important tasks .
Final checks You ’ ve probably got most things in place , but it ’ s a good idea to run through everything just to make sure nothing ’ s been missed . From knowing who ’ s going to press play on your aisle music , to ensuring the favours have been passed on to the venue to lay out , there ’ s so many little details to consider , so make sure you ’ ve checked everything over in plenty of time to allow for any last minute surprises .
Get excited It can be hard to remember to enjoy yourself in the days running up to your wedding with everything else going on , but take a few minutes to allow yourselves to get excited - tomorrow you ’ ll be a married couple !
