Peonies - are said to represent a happy marriage , romance and bashfulness . A pink peony in particular is said to represent love at first sight . Peonies are highly sought after , but are only available from April to July .
Roses - red roses symbolise passionate love , pink roses admiration and white roses symbolise purity . Roses are popular in both buttonholes as well as in bridal bouquets . Roses are widely available all year round .
Rosemary - is a symbol of remembrance , used by some couples to commemorate lost loved ones on their special day . Perfect for use in buttonholes , table arrangements , or even small sprays in a bouquet .
Stocks - are said to represent ‘ lasting beauty ’ and affection . Typically used in wedding arrangements throughout the venue , they can also be broken down to be used in bouquets . Stocks are known for their intoxicating smell .
Lavender - is thought to represent devotion in a marriage , as well as resembling elegance , calmness and luxury - this relates to purple being a royal colour . Lavender is popular in buttonholes , mother of the bride corsages and makes a lovely addition to bridal bouquets . Some brides say the smell of lavender creates a calming moment on their big day .
Freesia - is a symbol of innocence , friendship and trust between a couple , and has been a classic , staple flower for weddings for many years . Suitable for any flower element on your big day , freesias are particularly lovely in corsages .
Gerberas / Daisies - these flowers stand for loyal love , gentleness and simplicity , but most commonly represent cheerfulness . Great for couples who want their flowers to brighten up their day , these work either as single stems for buttonholes or as focal points in a bridal bouquet .
Muscari ( or Grape Hyacinth ) - purple Muscari are thought to symbolise mystery and creativity , and blue Muscari confidence . Due to their small stems , they ’ re perfect for bud vases on tables and buttonholes .
Alstroemeria - representative of wealth , fortune and prosperity in a marriage , as well as romantic / friendship love . Best for use in large venue arrangements .
Eucalyptus - perhaps the most popular element used in wedding flowers , this foliage is said to bring a sense of protection . Used throughout many arrangements , using it is a great way to bring continuity to bouquets and floral decorations .
