MARRIED AT THE OLD KENT BARN
SWINGFIELD KIRSTY AND ROB TAPLIN HAD A ROCK & ROLL DAY AT THE OLD KENT BARN THAT THEY ’ LL NEVER FORGET

THE VENUE After extensive online research , we shortlisted a few different venues . The Old Kent Barn was one of our top contenders . We made appointments to view a few venues , but we absolutely fell in love with TOKB as soon as we walked in .
The gardens were beautiful , the whole venue was modern and clean , but it was the friendly helpful and welcoming team that really sold it for us . The whole team were incredible both when planning the wedding and on our wedding day .
THE DRESS I had an idea of the style I wanted , but I wanted to have some fun trying different styles so made a few appointments .
I must have tried 12 or more dresses across the day but none of them felt perfect . Just as I was beginning to give up hope of finding my dream dress , we went to our final appointment of the day at Victoria Grace Bridal in Canterbury , where my friend Chloe saw a dress on a mannequin which she knew I would love . I tried it on and it instantly felt like my own and like it was made for me .
THE FOOD We had a three course meal , catered by TOKB . We are both real foodies and the menu was really important to us . We had heard that the food at TOKB was great , but even with high expectations we were blown away . From the canapés to the desserts , each dish was fantastic . Lots of our guests have since told us it was the best wedding food they had ever had !
THE ENTERTAINMENT We both love live music so a band was a no-brainer for us . We ultimately decided on a band called the Indie Killers . We tried to find a band whose setlist most aligned with our tastes and most importantly could get the dancefloor rocking . The Indie Killers did just that - they were incredible , and it felt like we were at our own personal concert .
THE HIGHLIGHT Our highlight of the day was spending time with our closest friends and family , many of whom had travelled very far . Watching everyone enjoy the day whilst we had the best day of our lives was really special .
