THE VENUE We thought we had decided on another venue , but heading back to London on the train after seeing it , an Instagram advert for Goodnestone popped up on my phone and it looked incredible . We booked a viewing for a week later , met Ronnie the house manager there and it was everything we had been looking for .
THE DRESS I went to three shops in a day , and didn ’ t like any of the dresses I tried . Then , I saw an influencer at a wedding and she was wearing this lovely dress and had tagged it . It was from a shop called Halo & Wren in Hemel Hempstead , so I went for a day trip with my sister and bridesmaids and tried on lots of their styles but the one I had seen was the perfect one for me ! I felt so comfortable and myself in it .
THE FOOD & DRINK We had The Flavour Kitchen doing our catering . They were absolutely incredible and the food was amazing ! We really wanted it to be relaxed , so we were keen to have sharing plates and also Italian ( our favourite cuisine .) From the moment we did the food tasting in Sinead ’ s kitchen she made us feel at home !
We also had Barney & The Pizza for our evening food , which was the perfect drunken nibble for our guests . Everyone was raving about it after !
We were able to bring in our own wine and toast drinks which was not only a huge cost saving but meant we could personalise our choice . Our fizz for the toast was my favourite sparkling wine from Kent - Chapel Down ’ s English Rose . My middle name is Rose too so it felt fitting .
THE FLOWERS See Rose Floral Design created our flowers for us . I can ’ t recommend Clare enough . I really don ’ t have much experience or knowledge of flowers and Clare really did everything I wanted and more ! We had a lovely initial phone call and I described what I was looking for . She sent over some pictures and it was exactly what I had envisioned !
THE FIRST DANCE The Proclaimers - I ’ m Gonna Be ( 500 Miles ) was our first dance . We chose this because we didn ’ t want a slow dance and we wanted everyone to get involved and dance with us .
THE PHOTOGRAPHY James Richard was our photographer . It was the easiest decision out of everything , we saw some of his work and immediately booked a call . Once we left that first call we knew he was the photographer for us , we really connected and just felt really comfortable with him .
THE HIGHLIGHT There isn ’ t just one thing . All of it was amazing ! The best weekend ever !
