JAMES PICKS HIS FAVOURITE MENU ITEMS TO CREATE HIS DREAM DINING SELECTION
If I was choosing a menu purely for myself ( and my wife of course ) we would choose a three-course menu as we love the interaction of passing the side dishes between friends and family and the time taken on your wedding day to enjoy a three-course meal together .
I have fond memories of our wedding day where the time we sat down to eat our threecourse dinner was one of the only times we got to ourselves as a couple and it felt like a nice intimate moment on the day to enjoy to ourselves and catch up together .
My pick would be a summer menu with plenty of greens and a delicious lemon meringue tart made with passionfruit and raspberries .
My food choices would be :
STARTER : Burrata : prosciutto , fennell , orange , baby gem , cashew . Goats cheese & fig tart : onion jam , walnut , aged balsamic .
MAINS : Roast lamb : artichoke crisps , champ mash , gravy , & mint pesto . Corn fed chicken breast : celeriac , tender stem broccoli , hazelnut . Ratatouille risotto : pearl barley , olive tapenade , basil .
SIDES : Roasted new potatoes : thyme , rosemary , roasted garlic . Curly kale : salted butter , shallot , toasted almond . Garden peas : baby gem , radish , mint .
DESSERT : Lemon meringue pie : raspberry sorbet , Italian meringue , mint . Clotted cream cheesecake : toasted Italian meringue , white chocolate . Strawberry cream tart : strawberry , mascarpone , pistachio , basil .
Then in the evening I would go for :
STREET FOOD : Sticky Siracha cauliflower : yogurt , mint , coriander , lime , sesame seeds . Breaded chicken burger : southern spices , mayo , slaw , pickles . Chargrilled chicken satay : toasted peanuts , black onion seeds , lime , braised rice .
