LIVING & LEARNING TOGETHER WHAT IS RESIDENTIAL CURRICULUM? Residential Curriculum is an intentional way of promoting student learning and engagement in the residence halls! The Office of Residence Life and Housing is committed to creating an environment in the residence halls where students can build relationships with one another, learn to communicate effectively and live cooperatively with others. The Residence Life staff will provide strategies to encourage student learning and engagement in the residence halls through conversations, events and activities. LEARNING GOALS COMMUNITY LEARNING INTEGRITY EXCELLENCE EDUCATIONAL PRIORITY As a result of living on campus, students will become engaged community members who act with dignity, honesty and pursue a lifelong commitment to learning and excellence. STRATEGIES Mustang Meetups (MMUs) Mustang Meetups are intentional conversa- tions RAs have with residents in a one on one format. While RAs and residents will chat throughout the year, MMUs are deeper level conversations that oc- cur twice a semester. Bulletin Boards Events Community Builders Bulletin Boards are a way of communicating our learning goals in a fun and creative way! New Bulletin Boards are posted monthly and are a great way to introduce new topics to residents. Large scale events happen twice a semester in the First Year Area, Upperclass Suites and Apartment communities. All events are connected to one of the learning goals and are a fun way to engage students outside of their rooms. Community builders are smaller scale events that encourage relationship and community building both inside and outside of the residence halls. Community Builders are facilitated by the RAs and occur monthly. Contact Residence Life for More Information: Phone: 443-334-2588 Email: ResLifeReception@stevenson.edu 17
