A Guide to a Successful JCL A Guide to a Successful JCL | Page 3

Salvete GJCLers!

Thank you for taking a look at this guide! It is my hope that this will be a resource for new and developing chapters in understanding the facets of publicity, membership, and leadership in promoting and developing the classics within their communities. I’ve compiled this packet with the assistance of the 2017-2018 Executive Board with info regarding events at the state and local level as well as the steps one can take to establishing a JCL within their community. This packet includes information regarding a Constitution, finding a sponsor, publicity and service, membership, and creating leadership opportunities.

That is not to say it is exclusive to strictly newly formed chapters! Throughout the year, I will be adding things to this guide that I believe have been beneficial to different chapters regardless of size and experience. It’s purpose is to compile all GJCL resources into a single document and it will serve as an idea platform for other chapters for use in publicizing and running their own JCL. It will include information that is geared specifically from the success of my own chapter as well as that of the other state chair to create a holistic, comprehensive guide of all things JCL.

With that being said, Bonam Fortunam for individuals utilizing this to jumpstart their respective local JCLs, and may this be a valuable tool too those looking to gain some insight on leadership, publicity, anything they can bring back to their local chapters!

E Corde,

Michael Banks

2017-2018 GJCL President
