I made a terrible mistake. In my anger about policemen being killed, I erroneously placed the blame on The Black Lives Matter Organization. I made some generalized statements attacking the group whose goal is to make our society aware of a real problem in our communities. I want to publicly apologize for the statements that I made and profanity I used about Black Lives Matter.

I caused division rather than healing. I caused division in our office and our community. I accept responsibility for my actions. I am being suspended for three days without pay and I accept that for the pain that I may have caused anyone.

As Victims Assistant Coordinator and Investigator, I should have been more compassionate towards the victims and the families of those who have been killed or wounded by wrongdoing. I always preach that we should wait before judging. I did not follow my own beliefs. I apologize to my family, my co-workers, my fellow law enforcement officers and to the community of Avoyelles and Louisiana. Black Lives Matter is a group that can serve a vital function to bring about healing in our land. I also ask God to forgive me.
