25-year-old Regis Perry started his career in radio in the fall of 2013. Perry, a senior mass communications major at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, hosts his weekly radio show “Live in the Dawg House“ on 91.7 KNWD The Demon.

Perry’s Hip Hop and R&B show talks about topics such as world news, entertainment and much more. In addition to his show that he currently hosts, he will be hosting another radio show “The Black Royalty Show” on every Friday at 7:00 p.m.

Perry’s typical preparation time for his show includes prayer, a talk with his mother, Cathy Perry, and listening to music. He also gets inspiration from “The Breakfast Club”, a morning radio show based in New York, New York. He uses their show as a way to see how the hosts interact with their guests.

Perry’s favorite part of his job is to meet new and interview new people. To keep his radio show visible, he uses his social media platform to interact with his listeners.

Says Perry, “Coming to NSU was a blessing for me, because it was an eye opener. I realized that there was more than just Avoyelles Parish, and that there is much more in the world.”

You can listen to Perry’s weekly show “Live in the Dawg House every Wednesday at 6 p.m. on 91.7 KNWD The Demon for the rest of the Spring 2016 semester. The show is scheduled to resume at start of the Fall 2016 semester.
