LEWIS AUTOMOTIVE GROUP has served Fayetteville for more
than 70 years. What started out in 1946 as a small car lot with
seven vehicles has grown to include six locations with more than
1,000 vehicles in stock. Today, you’ll find the fourth generation of
the Lewis family working at the business.
The founder’s great-grandsons, Matt, Shelby and Taylor learned
the business from the ground up. “If a family member wants to be
part of the business, we have to work like everyone else,” explains
Matt Lewis, the general manager. “We go through a two-year
program working in each department. After that, we’re evaluated
to find out where we best fit in the business.”

While the Lewis family is proud to carry on the tradition of offering
courteous service and quality products, they’re not afraid of
change. In fact, change is one of the keys to their success.
“Many people think working at a car dealership is just selling cars
or fixing cars,” Lewis says. “We have many opportunities, and
you can make a great living in this business. We have 175 team
members and only 68 of those people are in service or sales.”
