Within a year, he was promoted to assistant manager at the
apartment community where he worked (a role he held for
more than two years). Wilcox says he enjoyed working with the
community’s residents. “I like to see people be happy and have a
nice place to live,” he explains.
Wilcox was recently promoted to community director at the Links
at Starkville, one of the apartment properties Lindsey provides
management services to in Starkville, Mississippi. At 23 years
old, Wilcox is responsible for all day-to-day operations in the
community, including hiring and supervising a staff that includes
leasing consultants and maintenance technicians. “There’s more
responsibility in running and organizing things to make sure we
have a great community for everyone,” he says.

Wilcox’s goal is to eventually be employed as a regional
manager at Lindsey Management. “I don’t ever want to leave
this company,” he says. “I want to keep moving up from here by
either managing bigger properties or maybe someday becoming
a regional property director.” Wilcox says the way the properties
and Lindsey treat their team members is another reason he’ll stay.

Each apartment community’s commitment to its residents begins
with hiring the right people. All employees must pass a credit
and criminal background check, a drug test, have a valid driver’s
license and a high school diploma or GED.
Many positions at the properties for which Lindsey provides
management services offer varied work schedules. All apartment
community employees are required to live on-site and receive
