Richie Foran sported a smart shirt and trouser combo as he oversaw his first Inverness match at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium which resulted in a 1-1 draw and losing out on a bonus point in the penalty shootout. It also saw Billy King, Kevin McNaughton, Scott Boden and Jake Mulraney make their first appearance in an Inverness shirt at the TSC. McNaughton received the sponsors MOTM and it was deserved as he seems to look a real steady influence on the ICT back four and slotted in nicely at centre back. McNaughton mopped up danger when required and also found good forward passes to get play get play going again. Billy King looks like something that ICT were missing last season- a winger with a bit if trickery and pace. Mulraney has similar attributes but he also draws fouls like no other player at Inverness. While, 20 year old goalkeeper Cammy Mackay made his first start for ICT. Scott Boden looks set to be Inverness's first choice striker for the upcoming season and the signs are encouraging. His goal against United will do him the world of good and even though it was an easy goal to take, he was in a good position and ICT lacked that last season. Boden made an intelligent run for his big chance in the in second half which he put into the side netting but, as I said before, the signs of a good striker are there. The main positive on Saturday was the new players but, despite the performance being alright, it makes no difference on my thinking of ICT being a bottom 6 club this season. Foran can be reasonably pleased with the performance from side, but, will be gutted to lose the shootout and valuable extra point. It puts the pressure on Inverness as they travel to an inform Dunfermline on Tuesday night, with 3 or 2 points a must.
