The Aramalaya Golden Years Fellow ship
The Aramalaya Golden Years Fellowship was formed
in 2001 and will celebrate its 15th year anniversary in
Nov 2016. The group started with an entertainment event and luncheon for the elderly
in the community and there and then the idea to form the group occurred right at the
Aramalaya Presbyterian Church. The current membership is approximately 200 persons
from areas as diverse as Diego Martin, Chaguanas and Arima.
The group is all about fellowship for retirees and hosts a number of events, luncheons, plays , concerts, musicals and retreats.
The goal is to meet once a month on every second Wednesday of the month at 10:00 am at Morton House Tunapuna. Tours undertaken so far have been to Barbados, St. Lucia, Grenada , Curacao and St Marten to name a few. Local tours are also undertaken including to Tobago. According to Vice Chairman Mrs. Bernadette Ashby and Treasurer Mrs. Jean Coggins the group
also “serves as an excellent opportunity to socialize and enjoy each other’s
company.” Where possible a number
of visits are also arranged to homes
within Trinidad and Tobago. The Aramalaya group is open to anybody over
