The key to great coaching is to
identify the skill-related problem
(area for development) and
think creatively about the best
way to exaggerate the problem
and create high volumes of
repetition in a variable,
game-like practice – think of it
as ‘repetition without repetition’.
Ask yourself the following
questions:
• Are the players enjoying and/
or engaged in the game?
• Is the purpose of the game
being achieved?
• Are all the players being
challenged appropriately?
(is it too difficult, too easy,
one-sided)
If the answer to any of the
above questions is NO, then
CHANGE IT, but remember to
retain the integrity of the game.
