What is the name of the scheme?
Angling Trust Coach Licence Scheme
Who is the scheme for – which coaches
can apply?
Both Level 1 and Level 2 qualified angling
coaches can apply for the Coach Licence to
Practise scheme. Level 1 angling coaches are
qualified as assistant coaches and must operate
under the direction of a Level 2 angling coach.
Level 2 coaches are qualified to coach
independently and can direct the activities of
one or more Level 1 angling coaches up to a
recommendation of no more than four.

• hold a recognised angling coaching
qualification (from 1st4sport Qualifications)
Safeguarding and protecting children training
Coaches must:
• sign up to, and abide by, the Angling Trust
Equality and Child Protection Policies
• sign up to, and abide by, the sports coach UK
Code of Practice for Sports Coaches
• provide a photograph for ID card
• have completed a DBS check through the
Angling Trust, or granted the Angling Trust
permission to view their online disclosure
