Newcastle United WFC
Let’s Hear It For the Girls
By NUWFC
Many Newcastle United fans are oblivious to the
fact that the club has a Women’s team, let alone
a Women’s team which also competes in the FA
Women’s Premier League. The club currently
sits in the Northern division of the Premier
League and is looking to consolidate its position
and build for the future, with the long term aim
to compete in the FA Women’s Super League.
NUWFC gives an opportunity for girls and
women living in Newcastle upon Tyne and its
surrounding areas, to train and play football at
one of the highest levels possible in English
football. The club runs a first team and a
reserve team and is looking to develop a youth
programme in the coming years.
The club was established in 1989 and is formerly
known as Newcastle Women’s Football Club. It
is a not for profit registered UK charity no
1111188. The club currently plays under the
name of Newcastle United Women’s Football
Club via an agreement with the Men’s club.
