A Mann’s World 36 I’LL DEFINITELY TAKE THAT TO USHER MYSELF IN AS THE EDITOR OF THE FANZINE. Writing this on the back of Newcastle’s first win at Old Trafford since February 1972 (John Tudor and Stewart Barrowclough netting in a 2-0 win) makes this issue much easier to comprehend. It could have been oh so very different as we head into the festive period but wins over Chelsea (2-0), Tottenham (1-0) and this over Manchester United (1-0), as well as a draw against Liverpool (2-2) means the matches between now and Arsenal should be no-brainers. That and don’t forget, of our goal scorers, Cabaye’s goal at Old Trafford meant that now nineteen of the previous twenty scored by The Magpies, was scored by a Frenchman. Hang on though, this is Newcastle United. Who knows what will happen between now and the end of the year, let alone the end of the season – but we are in it for the long haul and always will be. As for this fanzine, your fanzine, it’s been an erratic time for us of late and we can only apologise for any unrest that may have occurred – it’s a tedious life for sure. Hopefully now the corner has been turned and we can get things back on track and provide you, the fans, the Toon Army, with more on your beloved Newcastle United. This issue is a kind of crossover edition between editorials as Steve Wraith hands over the reins to me and I just hope I can do you justice. There’ll be some changes, aren’t there always, but it will still be Newcastle all the way. Steve and I go back a number of years though, back to the Players Inc days; he’d been around a number of years anyway by then (Mighty Quinn fanzine anyone).
