THURSDAY | APRIL 6 , 2023
GRADUATE ADVISORS ’ TRAINING INSTITUTE , LEVEL I ( additional fee required ) 7:30 a . m . – 5:00 p . m . This beginning level training is for sorors who aspire to serve as Graduate Advisor , aspire to serve on their chapter ’ s Graduate Advisory Committee ( GAC ), or whose certification has expired as outlined on the application . The certification is designed to educate sorors on the duties and responsibilities of the Graduate Advisor and GAC . Sorors will be presented with information on pertinent topic areas and tools that are needed in order to function effectively in this position and to look at situations and issues encountered by graduate advisors . You must preregister for this session and meet the guidelines for admission to this class . There will be no onsite registration for this training . The application ( pgs . 81 -82) must be submitted to the Corporate Office by January 17 , 2023 .
GRADUATE ADVISORS ’ TRAINING INSTITUTE , LEVEL II ( additional fee required ) 7:30 a . m . – 2:00 p . m . This advanced training is for sorors who have served as a Graduate Advisor , have served on a GAC , and those who are seeking re-certification ( with no lapse in their certification ). The certification is designed to provide sorors with an in-depth look at situations and issues encountered by graduate advisors , share best practices , review pertinent topic areas and tools that are needed in order to function effectively in this position and to address “ hot topics ” on college campuses . There will be no onsite registration for this training . The application ( pgs . 81 -82) must be submitted to the Corporate Office by January 17 , 2023 .
At Capacity / Sold Out FINANCIAL OFFICERS CERTIFICATION TRAINING ( additional fee required ) 7:30 a . m . – 5:00 p . m .
This certification is designed to assist graduate and undergraduate chapter Tamiouchi and Pecunious Grammatei in executing their operational responsibilities and procedures as outlined in the Fiscal Fitness Guide to Financial Operations and referenced in other sorority governing documents . In addition , this certification training is open to all sorors who desire to increase their knowledge of the Sorority ’ s financial operations and procedures . Sorors who successfully complete this training will earn the designation of Certified Chapter Financial Officer .
ONSITE COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS 8:00 a . m . – 8:00 p . m . The Central Region Community Service Projects for 2023 , will focus on two program initiatives :
1 . Empower Our Families : CHIPP ( Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Packs ): Alpha Kappa Alpha ’ s most ambitious childhood hunger program to date ; Central Region will provide meals to children in the Milwaukee area . In our efforts to “ Feed the Babies ”, each Cluster has been assigned a particular item to donate .
2 . Uplift our Local Community
• Versiti ’ s LifeLine : The Ultimate Bond : Versiti ’ s innovative and groundbreaking exhibit , LifeLine : The Ultimate Bond presents inspiring personal testimonies of organ and tissue donation by Milwaukee Divine Nine members . The Community Service Project Ribbon Cutting will take place from 3:00 p . m . to 3:30 p . m .
