GA01 – Graduate Advisors ’ Training Institute – Level I 7:30 am – 2:30 pm This beginning level training is for sorors who aspire to serve as Graduate Advisor , aspire to serve on their chapter ’ s Graduate Advisory Committee , or who have let their certification lapse and must re-take the Level I training . The certification is designed to introduce sorors to the duties and responsibilities of the Graduate Advisor and Graduate Advisory Committee member and present them with basic information on pertinent topic areas and tools that are needed in order to function effectively in this position and to look at situations and issue encountered by graduate advisors .
GA02 – Graduate Advisors ’ Training Institute – Level II 7:30 am – 2:00 pm This advanced training is for sorors who have served as a Graduate Advisor , have served on a Graduate Advisory Committee , and those who are seeking re-certification ( with no lapse in their certification ). The certification is designed to provide sorors with an in-depth look at situations and issues encountered by graduate advisors , to share best practices , to review pertinent topic areas and tools that are needed in order to function effectively in this position and to address “ hot topics ” related to college campuses .
CR01 – Leadership Training Institute
7:30 am – 12:00 pm This interactive training program is for seasoned leaders and aspiring future leaders that will focus on topics in the areas of leadership styles , communication styles , chapter operations , meeting management , financial operations , protocol and other aspects of sorority leadership .
FOC – Financial Officers ’ Certification 8:00 am – 2:00 pm The Financial Officers ’ Certification Training will be offered to current and aspiring Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority chapter financial officers . This one-day , interactive , hands-on certification is designed to assist the graduate chapter Tamiouchos and Pecunious Grammateus in executing their operational responsibilities . Sorors will be trained in the proper implementation of financial procedures as outlined in the Fiscal Fitness Guide and referenced in several other sorority documents . A creative , learning approach will be used to enhance the core competencies of certification participants . Sorors who successfully complete this training will earn the designation of Certified Chapter Financial Officer . ( Only 75 slots are available )
CR02 – Parliamentary Training Institute 8:00 am – 12:00 pm This workshop is designed to prepare you to take and successfully pass the exam to become a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians . You will receive study materials and assignments in advance of the course of which you should be prepared for on the day of the workshop .
You will also gain additional knowledge to not only ensure meetings are run efficiently and effectively , but to also become well versed in parliamentary procedure . The knowledge you gain can not only be used for sorority meetings , but with other organizations that you are a member of .
