Protocol Reminders (Continued)
The greeting at Regional Conference:
“To Madam Regional Director, to Madam Supreme Basileus (if she is present), to Members of the
Directorate. To our Former Supreme Basilei, to our former Regional Directors, and all others who serve
Alpha Kappa Alpha. Good Morning.”
• There is no greeting before offering a prayer, meditation, grace and/or invocation.
These guidelines are applicable for plenary sessions, luncheons and events.
• The greeting, or other appropriate wording, is stated only by the first speaker of the
event. All others who follow need only acknowledge the leader – our Regional
Director and the Supreme Basileus if present.
“To Madam Regional Director (Madam Supreme Basileus) - Good Morning”
• The phrase, “Protocol having been established….” is out of order and should never be
used.
• When referring to the people on the dais, say “members of the dais, dais participants
or dais guests” not “the dais.”
