This Night
The world shines on those who are kind And the naive are just filled with dreams That kniving thieves could never see. When the world is still you can feel and fill The drilling hole of those who do not believe.
You stare and stare at the snow-covered glare Of a snowy night— not so cold tonight. Drinkers wear away, men talk away Till the sunset’ s last tear drops away Into the ebony night where it stays.
And I wonder why the men cannot talk Without hiding something inside. Oh, I wonder why the people cannot speak Without judging each word Like it was meant to be Some Morse code machine.
I wonder why we take pride At picking each word Of each beautiful bird
