What has our search for planets outside our solar system revealed?

Digital Universe Field Study( D. U. F. S.) Planetarium Script by Alexander P., Teddy W., and Brooks B.
Quick! Name all eight planets you studied in elementary science class. Now what if I told you there are actually 750 times more confirmed planets outside our solar system? Let’ s recall what we know about the planets in our solar system. They all orbit around the Sun, they are all massive enough to be round, and they have enough gravitational dominance in their orbit that no other objects can get in their way. While these are common traits to the planets we know best, you’ ll learn in this presentation that planets outside of our solar system may follow different rules. Some also have different features. If you are a Star Wars fan, some planets outside our solar system have the Tatooine double-sunset. Imagine how majestic that would be! Today, we will explore the variety of these faroff worlds.
Hello, my name is Alexander Perles, and my partners and I are about to take you guys for a ride as we search for and talk to you all about exoplanets. But first, what is an exoplanet? Well, that’ s why we are here. An exoplanet is any type of planet that is not in our solar system. Some of them orbit stars, but some are“ rogue planets” that have been ejected from their star systems! In fact, astronomers think there could be TRILLIONS of these rogue planets! There have been so many other cool discoveries of exoplanets, too. Exoplanets can be found all over the Milky Way. Exoplanets can be found in all sizes. Some can be really small, like Mercury, but others can be just as big as Jupiter.
