MERCY FOCUS ON HAITI
GMercyU has been engaged with Mercy Focus on Haiti ( MFOH ), a ministry of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas , since 2018 .
Students , faculty and staff members participating in the mission program explore creative ways to engage with the Haitian community through innovative , collaborative service learning projects .
INTERNATIONAL SERVICE TRIPS
Since 2006 , GMercyU ’ s Nursing and Social Work students have taken international service trips during spring break as part of their International Global Outreach class . They have served in the Dominican Republic , Haiti and Jamaica .
I have many fond memories both in and out of the classroom and clinical . However , the experience that I ’ m most proud of was the 10 years of mission work in the Dominican Republic with students during spring break , and one during fall break , with the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( ABSN ) students .
