MercyU has been guided by the service efforts of the Sisters of Mercy since the beginning . Now , 75 years later , GMercyU continues to engage with and serve the community . The following are just a few of countless service endeavors , large and small .
AUTISM INSTITUTE
GMercyU ’ s Autism Institute was founded in 2006 by Deborah Schadler , PhD , Assistant Dean of the School of Education . The Autism Institute engages community members , parents and educators through hands-on workshops , professional development activities , on-site service programs and educational presentations .

Gwynedd-Mercy College and the Maxwell Institute Inc . establish the Maxwell School of Computer Science to offer an associate degree in computer science .
1978 1979
Publication of the TODAY alumni magazine begins .
The Josephine C . Connelly Faculty Center is completed and opens .
