At present time, the basic language which is known by a big percentage of the European population is English. But actually what is the major importance of knowing languages and multilingualism in Europe? First of all, it is a matter of employment. Every young human is dreaming about a good, well-paid job. In Europe, the knowledge of different languages is the base for business travelling. If you speak foreign languages fluently, you have a lot more possibilities. Your future employer for sure will appreciate your language skills and will be impressed of your multilingualism. Secondly, multilingualism is connected with travelling. Knowing some different languages creates opportunities to visit other countries. You can travel a lot and do not have to worry that you can not communicate. If you know a lot of languages, you will not be limited to talking in just one. For instance, during your stay in France, Sweden or any other country, you do not have to look for people who know English. You can talk to citizens in their language and do not worry that they will not understand you. Nowadays in more and more countries in schools, children have an obligation to learn a foreign language or even languages. The governments of different countries are trying to guarantee a good future with languages. From the very childhood kids are playing in the environment where there are kids speaking other languages. To sum up, speaking foreign languages is very important in our lives. Thanks to them we have more possibilities and opportunities. In Europe, the knowledge like that is very appreciated and you can achieve so many things.
