8 HUMAN RIGHTS Zaid Saad
At the end of 2019 , Zaid asked me : « Ah , Hella , can you come to the Serdab please ? I need to show you something .» He showed me his first graphic art , already framed , the first piece of his new series HUMAN RIGHTS , in order to send human rights messages using the stamp technique . Instead of giving him my opinion , I asked him : « where did you get the stamps from ?», because I know that these kinds of stamps are not available in Baghdad . He answered : « Oh , I brought them from Berlin ».
On his first piece was written : The world sees us as numbers , not as humans . One year later he tells me a story from his teenager › s time . He was sitting in a coffee shop in his area when a bomb exploded on Al Ahrar Bridge . He went out of the shop and asked two kids what happened . The kids answered : « Nothing , only two persons died .» Over the years , he hears a lot of news with the number of people who got killed in the attacks . These people are humans not only numbers . The message : « The world sees us as numbers , not as humans .» is his answer to the decision that was issued in the end of last year ; to take Iraq out of the human rights list .
HUMAN RIGHTS for the festival contains 15 messages regarding this title , and he is not only talking about Iraq specifically , more about the world in general . To underline his main message : All people are equal . he uses a specific light . If you open this light , all objects and humans in the room will have the same color . These specific lamps are a gift from Studio Olafur Eliasson in Berlin . And I thank Christina Werner for this gift , a gift of hope and belief .
في نهاية عام ٢٠١٩ سألني زيد : » آه ، هيلا ، هل يمكنك القدوم إلى السرداب من فضلك ؟ أحتاج أن أريكِ شيئًا ». أراني أول فن جرافيتي له ، مؤطر سلفا ، أول قطعة من سلسلته الجديدة حقوق ا�نسان ، من أجل إرسال رسائل حقوق ا�نسان باستخدام تقنية الاختام . وبدلاً من إبداء رأيي سألته : » من أين لك الاختام ؟» �ني أعلم أن هذه ا�نواع من الاختام غير متوفرة في بغداد . فأجاب : » أوه ، لقد أحضرتها من برلين « كتب في أول عمل له : العالم يرانا أرقام وليس كبشر . بعد عام واحد ، وصف لي قصة من وقت مراهقته . كان جالسا في مقهى منطقته عندما انفجرت قنبلة على جسر ا�حرار . خرج من المحل وسأل طفلين عما حدث . أجاب الطفلان : » لا شيء ، فقط مات شخصان ». على مر السنين ، سمع الكثير من ا�خبار عن عدد ا�شخاص الذين قتلوا في الهجمات . ان هؤلاء الناس هم بشر ، ليسوا مجرد أرقام . رسالة عمله » يرانا أرقام وليس كبشر « هي رده على قرار اتخذ نهاية العام الماضي بإخراج . العراق من قائمة حقوق ا�نسان ان فنه الجرافيتي : حقوق ا�نسان الذي عمله للمهرجان يحتوي على ١٥ رسالة بخصوص العنوان وهو لا يتحدث فقط عن العراق على وجه التحديد ، بل يتحدث عن العالم بشكل عام . ولتأكيد رسالته الرئيسية : كل الناس متساوون ، استخدم ضوء خاص . إذا فتحت هذا الضوء ، فسيكون لكل ا�شياء والاشخاص في الغرفة نفس اللون . هذه المصابيح الخاصة هي هدية من استوديو أولافور إلياسون في برلين . وأشكر كريستينا فارنر على هذه الهدية ، هدية أمل و إيمان
