2 MAGARIED Tabarek Al Atrakchi
Zaid always tells our artist friends : « If you see something with wires and cables , it is Tabi !» And he is right . Tabarek Al Atrakchi always uses wires and cables in her paintings and installations . The city of Baghdad is full of wires and cables and people take this chaos for granted . She calls it « visual pollution ». In one of her latest artworks she poses a question : « What if we would stop silently accepting what is obviously wrong ?»
MAGARIED , she explained , is the plural form of « Magrood » in local arabic . The word describes the unfortunates , the forgotten , who cause no benefit or harm to themselves . And , her unfortunates or MAGARIED are affected by visual pollution .
Visual pollution describes the fact , that we silently accept what is obviously wrong . I ask , in the name of the unfortunates , the MAGARIED : Isn › t it time for change ?
يقول زيد دائمً ا �صدقائنا الفنانين : » إذا رأيت شيئًا بأسلاك وكابلات ، فإنه تابي ». وهو على حق . تستخدم تبارك الاطرقجي ا�سلاك والكابلات في لوحاتها الفنية واعمال الانستليشن . مدينة بغداد مليئة با�سلاك والكابلات والناس يعتبرون هذه الفوضى أمرا مفروغا منه . وهي تسميه : تلوث بصري . وفي أحد أعمالها الفنية ا�خيرة سألت قائلة : » ماذا لو توقفنا عن قبول ما هو خطأ واضح » بصمت ؟
وشرحت لي أن مكاريد هي صيغة الجمع لكلمة » مكرود ». وهي كلمة تصف غير المحظوظين والمنسيين الذين لا ينفعون انفسهم ولا يضرونها . وان غير المحظوظين أو المكاريد يتأثرون بالتلوث البصري يصف التلوث البصري حقيقة أننا نقبل بصمت ما هو خطأ واضح . أتساءل باسم غير المحظوظين المكاريد : ألم يحن الوقت للتغيير ؟
