By Sydney Villani Did you know that after Cleopatra died, the ancient world ended? Cleopatra was the last Egyptian ruler and ended the ancient world. Cleopatra is famous in many ways. She is famous because she commits suicide, Julius Caesar, and her past family rulers. Cleopatra has had mysteries of her death. Some people believed that she poisoned herself. In the book, Cleopatra, by Diane Stanley and Peter Vennema say that people believed that she died because of poison. Yet, there is another theory that she commits suicide after loosing a war against Rome. In the book, The Ancient Egyptians, by Lila Perl states, “In 30 B.C., following a naval battle in which Rome was victorious, Cleopatra was driven to suicide. Cleopatra also could never be famous without Julius Caesar. Caesar created a statue that proclaimed her a goddess. In the book, Cleopatra, by Diane Stanley and Peter Vennema, it said that Julius Caesar made a statue. It made her a goddess in Egypt and Rome. Caesar also helped her regain power. As mentioned by Fiona MacDonald in the book, Women in Ancient Egypt, it said that with the help in Julius Caesar she regained power after she lost it. Cleopatra has had past family rulers. She co ruled with Ptolemy XII, her father, and her brother, Ptolemy XIII. In the book, Women in Ancient Egypt, by Fiona MacDonald, the author writes that she co ruled with her father and brother. Her family members governed since 305. B.C. Also, in The Women in Ancient Egypt, it said that her family governed since 305 B.C. Cleopatra is famous for many reasons. She is famous because she committed suicide, Julius Caesar, and past rulers in her family. Cleopatra has had so many parts of her life she has had to become famous.
