First of all let me introduce myself. I'm John and have attended the London Broncos games since the very first game at Fulham in 1980. So I thought if I knew so much about London Broncos past and heritage why not start an account. Thus @past_broncos was created.
Before the days of quota allowance (restricting how many overseas players is in one team) people just assumed London was a team full of Aussies. People could have no argument about this.... They were. But that also helped the young academy. They had people to look up to. In fact no not people. Heroes of Rugby League who they had watched when they were in nappies.
If you have seen the @past_broncos page then you will see that I also focus on the academy. The strongest area of London Rugby League in every aspect. I do always get questioned then why aren't there more outstanding youngsters in the team? This is because now the quota rule has come in the London team is no where near as strong. We face certain relegation from Super League this season and youngsters will always have another option. Imagine if London had Dan Sarginson, Tony Clubb, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook and Omari Caro in the team this season?
Yes this account is to remember the past like such quality players like Shaun Edwards and Martin Offiah but also to recognise how good the academy is down here and if we start seeing some better results on the pitch I believe London will bounce back straight again next season. Well if that is with past experience or raw young talent I believe we will.
Thanks for having me 5TH TACKLE.
