Hull KR 22-26 Huddersfield Giants
Huddersfield Giants held on to the death against Hull KR to record a fourth consecutive victory in Super League.
Hull KR made the perfect start to the match by creating the first points of the game, Hodgson took in Greg Eden’s pass to cross over the line. Travis Burns converted to give Hull KR a six point lead minutes into the game.
Huddersfield Giants made the game level with a great play for stand-off Danny Brough collecting his own chip through and then kicking the ball out wide for winger Jermaine McGillvary, who then found centre Leroy Cudjoe to score. Hudderfield Giants could have increased their score but Jermaine McGillvary had his try ruled to for a forward pass. Moments after this Hull KR capitalised when Greg Eden put Welham scoring over the line, Travis Burns missed the conversion which took the score to Hull KR 10-6 Huddersfield Giants.
Huddersfield bounced back as Kyle Wood set up Ta’ai to score. Moments after Hull KR scored again as Gardner picked up a high kick from Keating. Huddersfield Giants weren’t behind for long though, a great run past the Rovers back line from Erol Crabtree saw him crashing over the line for Danny Brough to add the conversion.
Second half began and Hull KR thought they had the first points of the second half but the try was ruled out for obstruction. It was Huddersfield Giants who scored the first points of the second half when a Brough kick kindly bounced for up for Patrick to score, Danny Brough added the conversion giving Huddersfield they biggest lead of the night.
Larne Patrick then scored his second try of the match and once again Danny Brough added the conversion increasing the Giants lead.
Hull KR scored right at the last minute through Hodgson and it was converted by Burns but it was too late for Hull KR and Craig Sandercock.
