I first met Steve Wienecke about five years ago when we did a story on
one of his inventions: a giant pool table in his backyard that is played with
bowling balls. It’s super cool, but that’s another story. Anyway, at that time,
Steve was in pretty bad shape and had a terrible time getting around. The
thing that struck me the most about Steve was his lust for life and passion for
invention, but the pain behind his eyes was clearly visible.
A few weeks ago I heard Steve was up and around. When I called him, he
told me an amazing story. Apparently, Steve’s problems were caused by the
veins in his legs which were 100% blocked, and he was just waiting around
for a major stroke or other catastrophe. But thanks to another friend of mine,
Dr. Antoine Adem, Steve now has an incredible story. I am just so amazed
by this very talented physician I can’t help myself but to share this with you.
I actually can’t begin to understand how Antoine does what he does. To
me, the pressure of literally holding a person’s life in his hands as he clears
blocked arteries all the way up to the brain is (I’ll say it again) just incredible.
So meet my friend Steve Wienecke, who was given back his life.
