Keep your SKILLS UP this winter

Many of you will be thinking about packing your bikes away for the winter or might have already done so. We know riding in the colder months isn’t for everyone but there are still many things you can to keep your riding skills up whilst your bike hibernates.

Training

Let’s be clear. We’re not talking about twiddling your thumbs to play the latest MotoGP game at home. Here are a few options for those that don’t mind the chance of getting a wee bit wet but have a load of fun doing it.

Offroad

The number of riders that have been offroad is relatively small compared to the total riding population but there’s a lot to be learnt and whole boost of confidence to be gained by taking yourself offroad.

Yes you might yet wet and bit muddy but you’ll build up a massive amount of experience feeling a bike moving and

sliding underneath you that will pay off when you get back on the road. When you take that experience back to the road and you’re instantly a more confident rider!

Why do you think even the Pro-racers ride Motocross and Supermoto? It’s not just because it’s an awesome experience!

Some insurance companies are even offering discounts to riders that have completed offroad training with MotoScotland!

Have a look around and I'm sure you'll find more offroad Clubs and other options.

But if you prefer to be indoors why no try a ride at Hyper-Trax in East Kilbride. You get all the trill of the bike but less of the rain and cold effect.
