9 time FIM Motocross World Champion Antonio Cairoli has signed with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing for 2 further years, 2019 and 2020.

The contract was renewed on Thursday 22nd February in Rome with KTM Sport Manager Pit Beirer and Team Manager Claudio De Carli.

Cairoli was the first KTM rider to win the World Championship in the premier MX1 class in 2010 and with this new agreement, his career with KTM will reach the 11 year mark.

Antonio Cairoli:

"I’m very happy about this announcement as with this contract I made the history with KTM. After 8 years results are now visible and KTM is the most important off road manufacturer. I’m very motivated for the next 2 seasons."

In the next few days Red Bull KTM Factory Racing will travel to Argentina for the first GP of the 2018 FIM Motocross World Championship and the team will start the 2018 season as reiging World Champion in both the MXGP and MX2 categories for the sixth time in the last 10 years.

KTM's experience will certainly be a boost for the teams and riders but their, and Cairoli's main competitors won't let them get ahead too easily when the championship kicks off on March 4th in Nuequen.

When you throw riders such as Jeffrey Herlings, Tim Gajser, Romain Febvre, Clement Desalle, Gautier Paulin, and Max Anstie into the mix you know that the racing is going to be intense and that virtually any outcome is possible.
